Punta Cana, La Altagracia. – The Corales Puntacana Championship has been nominated in the category of ‘Best Marketing Initiative’ in the 2022-2023 PGA TOUR Tournament Awards. This celebration recognizes innovative ideas and showcases the incredible impact that PGA TOUR tournaments have on their communities.
“The PGA TOUR Tournament Awards recognizes the outstanding work of tournaments on the calendar. Being nominated as the tournament with the best marketing initiatives is a source of pride for the entire team that works tirelessly to make this country-brand event the success it has been,” said Manuel Sajour, executive director of Marketing at Grupo Puntacana and director of Corales Puntacana Championship.
He also added, “We are very happy with the nomination among all the PGA TOUR events. It is not the first time we have been nominated, nor would it be the first time we have won, but it is a great achievement in these post-pandemic times. The Corales Puntacana Championship is a country-brand event with which the Dominican Republic puts itself before the eyes of the world with golf tourism.”
Also nominated in the same category were the Barracuda Championship, Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by Mastercard, Wells Fargo Championship, RBC Canadian Open, and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Recently, the PGA TOUR and Puntacana Resort & Club announced the dates of the Corales Puntacana Championship, scheduled to be held from April 15-21, 2024, at the Corales Golf course. This marks the 3rd edition of a renewal contract that extends until 2025.
The Corales Puntacana Championship, which is worth 300 FedExCup points, will have live broadcast coverage on Golf Channel, as it does every year. The tournament has a reach of 4.8 billion impressions in digital and print media nationally and internationally in 153 countries, reaching 3.4 million viewers in the United States.

Winners of the Corales Puntacana Championship
In March 2023, Matt Wallace won the tournament champion, while in 2022, Joel Dahmen achieved his first victory on the PGA TOUR at the Corales Puntacana Championship. Other past champions include Hudson Swafford (2020), Graeme McDowell (2019), and Brice Garnett (2018).
Prior to 2018, the tournament had a two-year season on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule, where the winners were Dominic Bozzelli in 2016 and Nate Lashley in 2017.
