Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez. – The Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, delivered checks to 215 small agricultural producers for more than nine million pesos in compensation for the damages suffered during the atmospheric disturbance last November.
The aid provided by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, totaled 9,987,550.00 pesos intended to recover productive activities as soon as possible, which constitutes an important relief for the productive class in the area.
“I always remember a word that President Luis Abinader tells me… Agile, you can tell the farmers that they are not alone, they have a President who will not allow production to collapse in the Dominican Republic,” Cruz said.
He also announced the repair of 60 kilometers of local roads, for which the Northeast Regional Directorate will launch the yellow tractors and equipment as soon as possible.
The provincial governor, Gregorio Correa, thanked the President and the Minister of Agriculture for the prompt assistance to the productive sectors of María Trinidad Sánchez.
According to a note sent by the Communication Department of the aforementioned ministry headed by journalist Erick Montilla, the event was also attended by the Vice Minister of Agricultural Production, Eulalio Ramírez; the regional director of Indrhi, Aurelio Gómez; other authorities in the agricultural sector and hundreds of producers of different crops.
