Santo Domingo.- Fernando Hazoury, president of the Board of Directors of Cap Cana, emphasized the fundamental role of tourism in the economic growth of the Dominican Republic. He compared tourism to the nation's “oil,” underlining its potential to transform the country from a developing country to a wealthy one.
Hazoury stressed that, despite the achievements made to date, there is still significant room for expansion in the sector, and called for greater ambition.
During the announcement of the tourism results for December 2023, Hazoury also highlighted the development of the Cap Cana project, visualizing it as a comprehensive tourist city.
He proudly observed Cap Cana's current success and growth potential, humorously commenting that, at 20 years old, it is still decades away from reaching maturity.
This, he suggested, indicates ample opportunities for further development in the area. Hazoury's comments highlighted effective collaboration between the public and private sectors, contributing to substantial progress and organization of the sector in 2023.
