NY – The Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) organized the participation of Dominican companies in the 2023 Trade Show of the National Supermarket Association of the United States (NSA).
The event will take place from August 21 to 23 in New York. It is an opportunity for Dominican exporters to establish business relationships in the independent supermarket sector in the USA.
The executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro Disla, indicated that the participating companies will take advantage of the business opportunities at this fair. The fair will have the participation of more than 75 large distribution companies, such as Walmart, and over a thousand buyers from supermarkets in the United States that are part of the NSA.
In addition, Riveiro Disla mentioned that during the fair, participants will have a space for talks and conferences to acquire new knowledge about this sector. The idea is to promote Dominican products within supermarkets with a high presence of Latinos in the United States, such as New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston, and Florida.
“We have a meeting schedule within the supermarket fair. With these tours, we will understand how to do business with these supermarkets and what they are demanding in terms of products. We will also offer a tasting of Dominican products to buyers, to facilitate the entry of these products into American supermarkets,” explained Riveiro Disla.
It should be noted that, from January to July 2023, the Dominican Republic exported a total of US$3,782.7 million to the United States. This represents an interannual growth of 1.3% compared to the same period in 2022 and a 29% increase compared to the pre-pandemic year 2019. This value is a historical record in sales of Dominican products to the US market during the first seven months of the year.
