Public Ministry Shuts Down Adulterated Alcohol Factory in Verón, Punta Cana

Successful Operation: Adulterated Alcohol Factory Dismantled in Verón, Punta Cana.

In a significant operation, the Public Ministry executed the dismantling of an adulterated alcohol factory in the Villa Playwood sector of Verón, located in the province of La Altagracia, Punta Cana. Led by the area prosecutor, Deni Guerrero, the raid resulted in the seizure of 210 bottles, equivalent to 420 liters, of illicit alcoholic beverages, making it one of the largest production centers of adulterated alcohol uncovered in Verón.

During the operation, authorities arrested Nadine Toussaint, a 41-year-old Haitian citizen, who possessed a “temporary work permit” card issued by the General Directorate of Migration. The detainee will face a judicial process conducted by the Public Ministry in the forthcoming hours.

In addition to the adulterated alcohol, authorities discovered a substantial beach-style cooler filled with plastic bottles at the site. Alongside this, half a sack of sugar cream and a box containing cinnamon roots were found, strongly indicating their use in the illicit production process.

Coordinated by Mercedes Santana, chief prosecutor of the province of La Altagracia, the operation received essential support from the Central Intelligence Directorate (Lintel) of the National Police. This resolute action from the authorities underscores their commitment to combat the production and distribution of adulterated alcoholic beverages, prioritizing the preservation of public health and safety in the region.
