PUNTA CANA.– The high season is in full swing and Punta Cana shows no signs of slowing down. Operations at Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) continue to climb at a steady pace, with weekly flight activity growing by 2.07 %, a clear indicator of the strong demand driving tourism to this key Caribbean destination.

The increase is fueled mainly by additional flights from North America and Europe, as airlines adjust their schedules and add frequencies to keep up with a market where demand remains consistently high.

In November alone, Punta Cana once again captured more than 60 % of all air arrivals to the Dominican Republic, consolidating its role as the country’s most dynamic entry point for international travelers. This surge in traffic has had a direct impact on hotel occupancy, boosting stays in resorts and tourism complexes throughout the area.

Tourism and airport authorities note that this momentum points to a year-end marked by intense activity and sustained pressure on infrastructure. Punta Cana International Airport is currently operating close to full capacity, underscoring both the destination’s strength and the need to continue expanding and optimizing services to accommodate the constant flow of visitors.
