The president of the Eastern Hotel Association (Asoleste), Ernesto Veloz, indicated that for the tourist area of Punta Cana, increasing accommodation supply is the main goal in 2024 due to rising visitor demand.
He mentioned, “We have 46 thousand rooms operating, 3,500 under construction to be completed in 2024. Our aim is to reach 50 thousand rooms, meaning 100 thousand beds.”
Referring to future tourism, he stressed the need to organize the territory without delays. Veloz added, “We are working on territorial planning to enhance tourist experiences outside hotels.”
Ensuring access to services for tourists to engage with local communities is a priority. Veloz highlighted, “We want interurban routes for shopping tourism, benefitting the community economically.”
