Punta Cana City Hall Inaugurates International Congress of Municipal Women Leaders

Verón, Punta Cana.– The Municipal District Council of Verón–Punta Cana, led by director Ramón Antonio Ramírez, officially opened the 14th International Congress of Women in Local Government, a forum that brings together female leaders and national and international authorities committed to strengthening women’s leadership and promoting transparency in municipal management.

In his opening remarks, Ramírez highlighted the crucial role women play in community development and stressed the importance of creating real opportunities for them to occupy decision-making positions within local governments.

Deputy Mayor Carmen Valdez, known as “Aracelis,” also took part in the event, reaffirming that the current municipal administration is firmly focused on equity, inclusion, and the advancement of women in public life.

The local government institution reiterated its commitment to continue driving initiatives and public policies that foster territorial development and ensure that women have an active and meaningful voice in the processes of local decision-making.
