PENNSYLVANIA, USA – At just 11 years old, Aaron Di Lorenzo, principal cellist of the Punta Cana Children’s and Youth Orchestra, represented the Dominican Republic with distinction at the prestigious Kutztown University International Chamber Music Festival.
Guided by his teacher Alejandro Bolívar and supported by mentors from the Verón-based organization, Di Lorenzo earned a scholarship to participate alongside more than 50 young musicians from around the world, a recognition of his talent and dedication to the cello.
During the festival, he performed an advanced chamber music repertoire, including the third movement of Mozart’s Piano Trio Kv. 564, the third movement of Haydn’s Trio No. 39 in G Major, and the first movement of Carl Bohm’s Piano Trio Op. 330 No. 1. His performances highlighted both his technical mastery and artistic versatility.
Di Lorenzo also joined the festival orchestra in concerts featuring works by Mozart and Bach, performing alongside young talents from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the United States, Mexico, and Venezuela. His participation showcased not only his skill but also his deep passion for music.
His achievement reflects the commitment of the Punta Cana music education system and its teachers, who continue to nurture young talent and demonstrate how, with guidance and support, children can transform their dreams into reality and shine on international stages.
