The event was officially announced on Monday, December 22, at the AC Marriott Punta Cana hotel, where organizers highlighted the steady growth of the competition and its positive impact on the local community. During the presentation, mayor Ramón Antonio Ramírez emphasized the importance of initiatives like this to strengthen social integration and encourage regular physical activity among residents and visitors.

Hundreds of athletes from different regions of the Dominican Republic and abroad are expected to take part, which will also translate into an economic boost for local hotels, restaurants, and businesses throughout the Punta Cana area.

More than just a race, San Silvestre del Caribe is positioning itself as a celebration that blends sports, family, and tourism, reinforcing Punta Cana’s status as a key destination for major sporting events in the Caribbean and a reference point for healthy, active year-end celebrations.
