PUNTA CANA.- The Caribbean remains the favorite vacation destination for Argentines, maintaining its position in the top 3 of favorite destinations. According to the Travel Services agency, January represented 45% of total trips, February 30%, and March currently represents 25%.
The most popular options among Argentinians include Mexico (Cancún and Playa del Carmen), Dominican Republic (Punta Cana and Bayahibe), and Cuba. Panama, Costa Rica, and Aruba are also gaining ground.
Punta Cana, Cancún, Bayahibe, and Playa del Carmen are the four most sought-after vacation destinations from January to March.
The peak of purchases for trips to the Caribbean occurred in October 2023. The average stay of Argentines remained at 7 nights in the three months.
Guido Boutet, marketing manager of Travel Services, highlighted that Punta Cana has taken first place in preferences this summer, surpassing Cancun and Playa del Carmen. He highlighted the appeal of Punta Cana, citing its variety of rates and a variety of all-inclusive hotels, a feature increasingly valued by Argentines looking to minimize the use of cash during their trips abroad.
Boutet said: “The Caribbean is constantly positioning itself as an attractive option for vacationing abroad. Despite initial concerns about maintaining last year’s success in the summer season, the Caribbean continues to surprise and remains one of the favorite destinations of Argentines.
For those planning to visit Punta Cana during Easter, Travel Services offers travel packages from $1,500,000 and flights from $1,050,000. Alternatively, Cancun presents options with packages from $1,350,000 and flights from $990,000.
