Grupo Puntacana is commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month through their “Wellbeing Wears Pink” campaign. Various activities have been arranged by the group to heighten the awareness among their employees on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. These include conferences, discussions, and consultations.
A crucial part of the company’s comprehensive wellbeing program, these awareness sessions and talks for employees cater to their health and wellness in the workplace and beyond. This includes their personal and family lives.
“The objective of all the activities is to equip our employees with the necessary tools that could help them or their loved ones detect any early signs of the disease,” stated Karina Guaba, Vice President of Human Management at Grupo Puntacana.
These activities started on the 1st of October and resumed on October 15 with a series of talks given by Dr. Yadira Cedeño at the Yauya Room of The Westin hotel. Additionally, commemorative pins were distributed to employees within all the establishments owned by the company, including corporate sectors, Puntacana Resort, Punta Cana Airport, Fundación Puntacana, and Guardianes del Este.
“Breast cancer is more than a disease. It impacts people of all genders and requires emotional support and holistic approaches as much as conventional prevention measures and treatments,” Guaba highlighted.

Endorsed by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual event held in October that focuses on promoting early detection and treatment of this disease.
