Puntacana Group Unveils Ultra-Luxury Resort Project

Punta Cana.- The Puntacana Group announced details of its next hotel project in the East of the Dominican Republic, a venture valued at more than 100 million pesos. The project will have approximately 80 ultra-luxury rooms. The Playa Serena Punta Cana Resort is scheduled to open in 2026. It will represent the group’s foray into luxury tourism. The hotel will showcase low-density architecture with an essential ecological component. It will be located up to two stories below the coconut trees, aiming to maximize beach access and offering a unique experience for guests. The project has been designed and built by Dominican architects and contractors, reflecting the group’s commitment to local talent.

Frank Elías Rainieri highlighted the group’s willingness to evolve, marking a strategic step towards the luxury tourism sector. With a reputation for delivering high-quality experiences, the new hotel will integrate elements of innovation and luxury.

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, praised the Puntacana Group’s commitment and investment in the country. He expressed pride in the Rainieri family’s pioneering role in tourism and noted that the $100 million investment aligns with the Dominican Republic’s strategy to advance luxury tourism.

Collado also highlighted the Rainieri family’s recent achievements, including the opening of a 500-room hotel in Miches and the establishment of the Dominican Republic’s first all-inclusive “W” in Uvero Alto. The breakfast marked another major announcement as the family revealed the $100 million investment.

Present at the announcement of the project were Frank Rainieri, founder of the Puntacana Group, along with Haydée Kuret de Rainieri, Paola Rainieri, and Franchesca Rainieri.
