In PUNTA CANA, Democratic Hope Party’s leader, Ramfis Trujillo, resurfaced politically. He suggests the Government renegotiate public debt instead of pursuing the proposed tax reform.
Trujillo urges the Government to amend the Fiscal Responsibility Law, Law 35-24. He wants to limit public expenditure to the government’s annual income.
According to Trujillo, the tax reform results from financial mismanagement. He denies it being a part of any modernization procedure.
As he argues, the Government, amidst its hurried reforms, should focus on altering the Fiscal Responsibility Law. He believes the current one is insufficient,” said Trujillo.
Trujillo, who is also a presidential candidate, asserts that Law 35-24 wholly fails to regulate State expenses.
