“Fast Track” residency in the Dominican Republic is available to foreigners through rental income from properties located elsewhere.
With this residency, you can apply for Dominican citizenship within six months of obtaining your residence card. This is quicker than the alternative seven-year route, hence the “Fast Track” name.
To qualify, you need a minimum monthly income of $2,000 for a single individual. Each additional family member requires an extra $250. For instance, a family of four needs $2,750 monthly income.
This income threshold is based on gross rental income each month. Essentially, the state wants at least $2,000 deposited into your account per month.
You must provide proof of your monthly income. The law states that the income source should have existed for at least five years.
The necessary documents include:
• A title or deed indicating ownership of the rental property;
• A rental agreement showing the property’s rental value;
• Bank statements from the past three months verifying rent received.
