In the Dominican Republic, foreigners can apply for “Fast Track” residency through rental property income from outside the country.
With this type of residency, they can apply for Dominican citizenship within six months. This is compared to seven years for the alternative path, giving this option its “Fast Track” name.
To qualify, a single person needs a minimum monthly income of $2,000. Each additional family member increases the required total by $250. Therefore a family of four needs a monthly income of $2,750.
The state requires proof of a monthly gross rental income of $2,000, not the net income after expenses.
Applicants must provide documents to prove their monthly income.
The source of income should have existed for at least five (5) years.
The documentation includes:
• Title or deed of the rental property;
• Rental contract showing the rental rate;
• Three months bank statements showing received rent.
