The Reserve Bank participated in the World Travel Market 2023 tourism fair held in London, where it established direct contact with the main representatives of hotel chains worldwide, with the aim of attracting new investments for the country.
This annual event brings together senior executives from hotel groups, providing an opportunity to expand their network of contacts with clients and close significant agreements.

This edition of the fair was held from the 6th to the 8th of this month at the Excel exhibition center, Docklands, with the attendance of hotel groups, such as Karisma Hotels & Resorts, Blue Diamond Resorts, Bluebay, Palace Resorts, Faranda, Hyatt Inclusive Collection, ITM Group, Grupo Posadas, RCD Hotels, Lopesan, MGM Muthu and Park Royal Hotels & Resorts, belonging to the Royal Holiday group.
In the field of tourism, the Dominican Republic received some 131,124 visitors from England until last October, reflecting its growing importance as a European tourist destination.
The number of visitors in 2022 was 188,063 travelers. The country is positioned as one of the favorite tourist destinations in the Caribbean, both for English people and tourists from other destinations in Europe.
The British consider the Dominican Republic an attractive destination in the Caribbean, highlighting its natural and cultural charms and renowned golf courses. In addition, the availability of direct flights from London to Punta Cana through airlines such as TUI and British Airways has contributed to the increase in tourists from England in recent years.
