Madrid, Spain.- The Reserve Bank of the Dominican Republic held the “Las Reservas de mi Tierra” cocktail party, aimed at investors and authorities in the hotel sector, within the framework of the 45th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR).
The executive president of Banreservas, Samuel Pereyra, when addressing the public, highlighted the entity's financial data at the end of 2024, its businesses in the tourism sector and its social commitment, through the Sustainability and Social Responsibility department and the Banreservas Volunteering .
“This team, in the last four years, has provided valuable support to the most vulnerable sectors, with a special focus on Dominican children, female empowerment and education. These initiatives are complemented by concrete actions aimed at promoting culture, sports and entertainment,” he expressed.
In the field of business, Pereyra stated that the financial institution has promoted tourism through investments that have fostered innovation and growth in destinations such as Miches, Pedernales, Montecristi, La Romana, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo and Punta Bergantín, as well as the creation of hotel infrastructure and cruise ports.
“In this regard, we have had the collaboration and constant support of our representative office in Madrid, for information and processing of financing requests,” the official highlighted.
The Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, and the president of the Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores), Juan Bancalari, speaking at the ceremony, highlighted the participation of Banreservas in FITUR 2025, in the which managed to manage more than US$4,000 million.
The cocktail
This 45th edition was an opportunity to show Dominican culture, art, gastronomy and customs in a direct and innovative way, at the cocktail party held at the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela, with a stage that allowed for a panoramic display of the folklore of Quisqueya. .
The night was entertained by Dominican musical groups and soloists residing in Spain, as an example of the close relationship between the two countries, similar in their historical and cultural evolution.
The activity was also attended by senior executives of hotel chains, investors and tour operators, public and private authorities, members of the press, the Dominican community residing in Spain and the Board of Directors of the financial entity.
