Cap Cana, RD.- The Cap Cana marina announced that this month of December will remain a special mark in the books since on the 2nd a new record of capture and release of Blue Marlin in the Atlantic Ocean was established by the vessel Trillo Bite, during a normal day of fishing.
Carlo Kier, owner of the boat, achieved the feat of releasing 25 blue marlins in a single day along with other fishermen such as Braizon Cedeño, Javier Silva, Carlos Rodríguez, Oscar Benito Farias and the captain who was driving the boat, Juan Ramón Colón Cruz.
December is the month in which we bet on these records and the previous one achieved was on December 11, 2016 by the Blue Bierd boat of Jesús Montado, which was captained by Miguel Tirado, and the fishermen were Oscar Benito, Hector de los Santos and Christian Motorbike.
Other boats also had an extraordinary day of fishing. Six boats managed to release 100 billfish species, such as Fresh Air, which released 15 blue marlins, 1 white marlin and 1 sailfish, just as San Elías released 12 blue, 3 white and 1 sailfish.
For its part, Salty Fare released 14 blue, 2 white and 4 fish and the Wicked Wahine boat released 14 blue marlins and 2 sailfish and finally Viking 68 managed to catch and release 4 blue marlins and 1 sailfish.
This new record for the Atlantic from marina Cap Cana reaffirms its position as a world-class fishing sports marina and the importance of this tourism for the Dominican Republic, thus accompanying the country and the Dominican State, in its mission to reach 12 million of tourists per year.
