Santo Domingo, RD.- For the ninth consecutive year, Catalonia Hotels & Resorts delivers the funds raised in its annual Catalonia 5K race, Run for Love, with the purpose of promoting family sports and, above all, supporting the fight against childhood cancer in our community, together with the Friends Against Childhood Cancer Foundation (FACES).
5K Run for Love Catalonia is a global event held simultaneously in Mexico and Europe. This initiative demonstrates that solidarity has no borders and that we can come together to support those who need it most, regardless of our location. Thanks to the participation of people and companies from different countries, various vulnerable groups have been able to benefit.
Kilometer by kilometer, they have shown that, together, they can make a difference and provide hope to the children of the Dominican Republic. This year, more than 76 brands Sponsors joined this noble cause, contributing their grain of sand. In addition, a total of 1,550 runners actively participated, making it possible for the goal of RD$2.4 million to be reached.
During the fundraising cocktail, Mrs. Alexandra Purcell, president of FACCI, who year after year expresses her gratitude for the generous donation, highlights the importance of contributions to continue improving the quality of life of the children cared for by the Foundation , and to guarantee them the best opportunities in their fight against cancer.

About the Catalonia 5K race
Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, committed to sustainability, develops various initiatives in the environmental, social and economic fields. The company demonstrates a clear commitment to the environment of its Hotels, implementing actions focused on vulnerable groups.
The first edition of this race in the Dominican Republic was held in February 2016 with 138 runners participating. And today, in its 9th edition, it has already added more than 1,550 runners.
The funds raised in past editions held in the Dominican Republic are donated to the Fundación Amigos Contra el Cancer Infantil (FACCI), a non-profit organization in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, founded in 2003 by a group of committed volunteer friends. in improving the living conditions of children with cancer, aged 0 to 16 years, who are cared for at the Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Children's Hospital (HIRRC).
