As indicated, the airline Air Transat will be opening 4 new routes, which will connect Canada with Punta Cana, Samaná, Puerto and La Romana during the high season of 2025, which will increase the connectivity of Canadian cities with Dominican cities, with 15,500 additional seats.
Likewise, it was reported that the Sunwing airline will add 7 frequencies during the high season, which will add almost 30 thousand new seats.
“For the Dominican Republic, it is vitally important to continue strengthening relationships with these Canadian airlines that trust our market, and that have contributed to Canada continuing to consolidate itself as the second most important country in issuing tourists to the Dominican Republic,” said the minister. The Ministry of Tourism team held two roadshows in Toronto and Montreal this week, in which they met with more than 300 tour operators and travel agents in those cities, and within the framework of these events, Minister Collado took the opportunity to have private meetings with these airlines, as well as with other important actors for the country's tourism based in Canada.
