Montreal.- El Ministro de Turismo, David Collado, anunció a través de sus redes sociales que logró concretar acuerdos con varias líneas aéreas de Canadá las cuales aportarán un total de 50 mil asientos adicionales en las diferentes rutas que operan conectando ese país con República Dominicana.

Según se indicó, la aerolínea Air Transat estará abriendo 4 nuevas rutas, que conectarán Canadá con Punta Cana, Samaná, Puerto y La Romana durante la temporada alta de 2025, lo que aumentará la conectividad de ciudades canadienses con dominicanas, con 15,500 asientos adicionales.

De igual forma se informó que la línea aérea Sunwing agregará 7 frecuencias durante la temporada alta, lo que agregará casi 30 mil nuevos asientos.

“Para la República Dominicana es de vital importancia seguir fortaleciendo las relaciones con estas aerolíneas canadienses que confían en nuestro mercado, y que han contribuido a que Canadá se siga consolidando como el segundo país más importante en emisión de turistas para República Dominicana” aseguró el ministro Collado a través de un comunicado de prensa.

El equipo del Ministerio de Turismo realizó sendos roadshows en Toronto y Montreal esta semana, en los cuales se reunieron con más de 300 tour operadores y agentes de viajes en dichas ciudades, y en el marco de estos eventos el ministro Collado aprovechó para tener reuniones privadas con estas aerolíneas, así como con otros actores importantes para el turismo del país con sede en Canadá.
