Washington.- At its 48th gala, The Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce honored Raymond and Aris Comprés with the prestigious Hispanic Business Hall of Fame recognition for their remarkable contributions to the Hispanic community in the United States. Founders of Mecho’s Dominican Kitchen in 2019, the brothers established a thriving Dominican food restaurant in tribute to their mother, Mercedes, creating jobs and enhancing the lives of hundreds of Latinos. Their commitment to entrepreneurship and social progress earned them this accolade, presented by Chamber Director Nicole Quiroga.

During the ceremony, Aris expressed heartfelt gratitude to their community for its unwavering support and credited his wife, Dilenny Lora, for her pivotal role in expanding their business through effective public relations and social media outreach. Raymond, his twin brother, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the guidance and values instilled by their parents, Ramón Arismendy and Mercedes Comprés. Together, the brothers aim to continue supporting initiatives in the Dominican Republic and Central America, inspired by the Latino community’s ongoing encouragement.

The Comprés brothers also lead Los Hermanos Dominican Kitchen, founded by their parents in 1995, carrying forward their family’s legacy of community service. Through their establishments, they contribute to the economic and cultural integration of Latinos in the U.S. Meanwhile, the Hispanic Business Foundation of Maryland, affiliated with the Chamber, has been instrumental in advancing the social and economic progress of Maryland’s Hispanic community since 2000, amplifying the efforts of leaders like the Comprés family.
