Santo Domingo.- Dominican exports reached a historical record of 12,925 million dollars in 2024, which represents an increase of 8.3% compared to the previous year, according to the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana). This growth highlights significant increases in exports in countries such as the United States, India and Canada.
Exports from the national regime totaled US$ 3,996.9 million, an increase of 11.3%, while the free zones reached the record figure of US$ 8,607.1 million, with an increase of 6.9%. The report highlights the vital role of free trade zones in job creation and sustainable development and economic competitiveness of the country.
The executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro, emphasized that this sustained growth reaffirms the essential role of foreign trade as an engine of the Dominican economy, creating jobs and boosting the income of foreign currency. The success of export promotion policies and the resilience of the national sector position the Dominican Republic as a competitive and dynamic player in the global market.
