Another historical record for Dominican tourism, stating that it not only celebrates, together with the private sector, the arrival of the tourist that represents the 11 million visitors, but what that represents for the Dominican economy.
In that sense, he highlighted that Tourism means 949 thousand jobs in the year 2024 directly and indirectly, it means US$26 billion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), that is, tourism represented almost 20% of the GDP,” he indicated. .
That also means, Collado pointed out, RD$130 billion in tax payments to the treasury.
He recalled that last year the country reached the goal of 10 million visitors, an old aspiration of the sector, in a scenario similar to this Sunday.
