Paris, France.- The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Tourism has successfully completed its participation in the IFTM Top Resa tourism fair in Paris, reaffirming its commitment to consolidate the country as a leading destination for French tourists.

With the presence of 27 Dominican companies in the sector, the event was the ideal setting to promote the country's varied tourist offering and confirms that by 2025, the Dominican Republic will be the host country for the Top Resa fair.

Tourism Minister David Collado said: “Participating in Top Resa 2024 and being the host country in 2025 reaffirms the Dominican Republic’s commitment to the French market, highlighting our unique offering and the hospitality that characterizes us.”

Laurence Gaborieau, IFTM Director, also said she was delighted that the Dominican Republic, an iconic destination for French travellers, was the Guest Country of Honour for the 2025 edition.

“This confirmation has been a real surprise and we are delighted that this country committed to tourism professionals and travel agents wishes to develop a partnership that benefits everyone. The Dominican Republic is full of gems that are yet to be discovered,” said Minister Collado.

The Dominican Republic plans to receive around 150,000 French visitors by the end of 2024. The Ministry of Tourism also announced that the airline Air Caraibes will increase the frequency of direct flights from Paris to Punta Cana.

During the three days of the fair, numerous meetings were held with key players in the tourism industry, generating new business opportunities and agreements that will boost the growth of tourism to the Dominican Republic. As part of the activities, a roadshow was held that attracted more than 200 tour operators and travel agents, strengthening relations with the French market.

Among the companies participating in Top Resa 2024 are: Banreservas, Banco Popular Dominicano, Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Grupo Puntacana, Colonial Tours, Sky High Dominicana, La Romana Airport, Meliá Hotels International, Air Century, etc.
