El Gobierno anunció que invertirá unos 300 millones de pesos en la repavimentación de la Autovía del Este y Autopista del Coral cuyos trabajos iniciaron para una primera fase, de un kilómetro, hasta Punta Cana.

Dicha información la ofreció el viceministro de Supervisión de Obras del Estado, Roberto Herrera, quien indicó que se utiliza la técnica de micropavimentación que reduce el costo en por lo menos un 35 %.

Afirmó que ya está contratado el primer tramo desde el peaje Coral II hasta Punta Cana, pero que el proyecto contempla el asfaltado completo desde San Pedro hasta Punta Cana.

«Buscamos asegurar que está vía siga dando servicio sin inconvenientes alargando la vida útil de la misma de la carpeta actual por cinco u ocho años más», dijo.

Indicó que el ministro Deligne Ascención y los ingenieros del sector de la construcción están en Puerto Rico en una actividad que tiene que ver con el reciclaje de asfalto porque el objetivo es reducir los costos de las obras, según Diario Libre.

Como parte de la contribución para mejorar la seguridad vial en la región Este, el Grupo Puntacana construye la marginal de la rotonda próximo al aeropuerto.

En el lugar se producen atascos y con la nueva obra se espera que mejore la situación.

Camiones rodillos y otros equipos pesados trabajan en el asfaltado del lugar. Para realizar los trabajos fue contratada la constructora Alba Sánchez.
