The victim, identified as Juan Manuel Polanco (Lelo), 32, suffered multiple puncture wounds in the thorax, which would have been apparently caused by Víctor Manuel Méndez López, who after committing the fact undertook the flight.
According to Yaniris Brito’s testimony, a couple of the late and former partner of the aggressor, the homicide occurred for passionate reasons.
In the scene several white weapons were found, including a machete and a dagger.
Also, residents of the indignant Macao community burned the motorcycle in which the aggressor moved.
Hours later, around 7:00 in the morning, López was captured by members of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM) of Verón-Punta Cana.
At the time of his arrest, the defendant admitted to having committed the crime for jealousy.
The victim’s body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in San Pedro de Macorís, while the detainee will be made available to justice in the next few hours.
