Punta Cana. The district director of Verón Punta Cana, Ramón Antonio Ramírez (Manolito), issued a statement alerting the community about the creation of a fake account on the Facebook platform, which uses his name to solicit money from citizens.
According to the councillor, unscrupulous people are contacting the population under the pretext of collaboration and participation in financial projects, taking advantage of their identity.
Manolito emphatically clarified that neither he nor the City Council are soliciting funds or participating in financial initiatives through social networks. He described this action as a scam and urged citizens not to fall for these fraudulent scams.
In its statement, it asked residents not to share personal information or send money if they receive such messages. It also requested that suspicious accounts be reported to prevent further fraud.
“I ask you to be vigilant to prevent more people from being affected,” the mayor concluded, noting that the necessary measures are being taken to resolve the situation and protect the community.
