The Dominican Republic, which in recent years has stood out for its proposals, achievements, and recognitions received, has positioned the country as a fashion destination. This year it promises to go one better by presenting a stand that will invite visitors to immerse themselves in the best of the Caribbean destination through a 3D design that integrates unique interactive experiences.
The space will have exclusive networking areas, more than 60 business modules, and a robust work agenda. It is expected to finalize key strategic agreements, announce innovative projects, and present new hotel investments that will increase the supply of rooms in different destinations in the Dominican Republic. In addition, closures with important airlines and tour operators are anticipated, thus strengthening the country's tourism leadership in the Caribbean and the world.
The participation of three prominent banks as official sponsors, Banco Popular Dominicano, Banco de Reservas and Banco BHD, along with other sponsors such as Grupo Punta Cana, Cap Cana and Banco Promérica, guarantees the success of the fair for the country.
The stand design will highlight emblematic aspects such as the impressive surfing beaches, the majestic paradisiacal coasts, the luxurious golf courses and the adventure tourism options.
All this will be presented in a visual representation that highlights the country's natural wealth. In addition, the Colonial City, declared a World Heritage Site, will come to life with immersive elements that will transport attendees to Dominican history and heritage.
The gastronomic offer will also be the protagonist, highlighting the culinary diversity of cities such as Santo Domingo, recognized as “Capital of Gastronomy” by the Network of Creative Cities of the UNESCO.
The fair will also highlight cultural expressions, folklore, crafts and the talent of Dominican artists, highlighting the cultural richness of the country.
Spain, the first European source of tourists to the Dominican Republic, continues to be one of the most relevant markets. In 2024, the country received 182,089 tourists residing in that territory, of which 55% arrived through Las Américas airport and 40% through Punta Cana.
The participation of the Dominican Republic in FITUR 2024 was considered a resounding success, with the closing of 19 new tourism projects that represent an investment of almost USD 3.5 billion and the incorporation of more than 9,000 new hotel rooms in different parts of the country.
