The 2025 Budget Bill being studied in the Congress of the Dominican Republic, presents an estimated budget for the Ministry of Tourism of RD$2,353,262,601 for investments in the initiation and monitoring of the development of various infrastructures that the Minister of Tourism, David Collado has announced and that in fact some of these have already begun, such as, for example, the recovery and adaptation work for public use of seawalls in some provinces.

Notable among them, as we already mentioned, is the project to recover and adapt boardwalks in the country, as has been done on the Boardwalk of Santo Domingo Este, San Pedro, Samaná and Santo Domingo Este. Likewise, investments in the tourist port for cruise ships in Barahona stand out, the continuation of the rehabilitation of the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, construction of vehicle parking for visitors to Playa Bayahibe, reconstruction of the streets of the urban area in the San Felipe municipality , Puerto Plata Province and reconstruction of the seafront in the municipality of Pedernales, Pedernales Province.

The Bicameral Commission designated to study the General State Budget Project for the year 2025, during its meeting last Tuesday, in the Senate of the Republic, began reading the initiative sent by the Executive Branch for study, for a amount of RD$1,681,728,011,591. Of this, the Ministry of Tourism has an estimated total budget of RD$9,400,055,025, which is divided into current expenditure with RD$4,540,896,365 and capital expenditure RD$4,859,158,660.

We remember that some works included in this budget of RD$2,353,262,601 include continuity for their completion according to their structural dimension. The Minister of Tourism has been emphatic in the construction of these works to size and strengthen the tourist interest of the destinations of the Dominican Republic.
