The National Police held a coordination meeting with a view to the celebration of the First International Symposium on Public Security, which will take place on March 7, 8 and 9 in Punta Cana.
The event will bring together representatives from several countries of the American continent and will address as a central theme the threats, concerns and challenges that affect public safety in the region.
This symposium aims to promote a dialogue between key actors to analyze emerging security challenges, promoting the exchange of knowledge and good practices in the prevention of violence and the fight against transnational organized crime. Through this initiative, it seeks to strengthen the operational and strategic capacities of the police institutions and security forces of the Americas.
As part of the program, the event will include the realization of the first international race of the National Police, with 5K, 10K and 21K tours, scheduled for the third and last day of the activity.
The meeting was headed by Colonel Juan Antonio Bello Balaguer, central director of Planning and Development (Diplan, who offered details of the event in compliance with the strategic guidelines of Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, general director of the National Police.
During the meeting, key aspects were discussed such as transportation, lodging and food logistics of the participants, with the aim of guaranteeing the success of this important activity.
Among those present were General Pedro Ignacio Matos Pérez, Central Director of Research (DICRIM); Colonel Roenny Catano Martínez, Director of Cooperation and International Relations of the National Police; Mrs. Ingrid Castro de Guzmán, president of the Association of Officer Wives (ASEOPNA), as well as other officers, enlisted and personal involved in the organization of the event.
