PUNTA CANA. The Association of Sports Journalists of Santo Domingo has chosen sprinter Marileidy Paulino as “Athlete of the Year” and sports journalist Yancen Pujols as “Journalist of the Year 2023”. In addition, Pujols was awarded in the Social Media and TV categories.

Paulino, who stands out among athletes such as Brenda Castillo, Alexander Ogando and Yunior Alcántara, had an exceptional year. In 2023, she won the World Cup, the Diamond League, the Central American and Caribbean Games, and the Pan American Games, marking a milestone in the history of Dominican sport.

Recently, Marileidy retained her crown in the 400m Diamond League in Brussels.
