Los Angeles Films & TV, founded by the visionary Kiki Meléndez, proudly announces the green lighting of his heartbreaking Iso-Film, “Children of Christ.” This project aims to project a powerful attention on the heartbreaking reality facing homeless children in some of the most populated countries in Latin America. With 80% of its insured and filming funds granted by DGCINE, the production will begin.
The Film's Journey Has Been Made Possible Through the Genous Support of Bayahibe Electricity Company (CEPEM), Domis Constructor Chiaramid and Ushuaia Beauty Bay in Punta Cana.
“Children of Christ” will shed light on countries that need a great need for conscience and assistance, including Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Brazil, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, where 1 million children live in poverty and 600,000 are orphan.
The documentary will also narrate the emotional trip of the process of adopting an American family, capturing the deep challenges and adoption triumphs. By portraying this deeply personal experience, “Children of Christ” aims to explore the complete spectrum of emotions involved, of difficulties to hope.
“This project is deeply significant. Our goal is to raise awareness about this critical theme and inspire significant action through the narration of stories, ”said Kiki Meléndez, writer, director and producer of the film.
Inspired by Pastor Manuel Saavedra, president of the Children Foundation, the project seeks to ensure that the voices of these children are not forgotten. “We have always felt that there is a great need to share the stories of our children, so their voices will not be forgotten. It is the first time, and we are grateful that it has passed now, “Saavedra shared.
After more than four years in development, the project now advances with its dear co -production team of El Studio de Catrain, Carmen Rodríguez and Flor Piña. Executive producers include Belén Ibáñez, Meiling Macías Toro, Julia Carias Linares, Alan Solis and Frank Drucker. The film will be narrated by actress Emily Tosta (Mayan MC, Willy's Wonderland, Party of 5), starring Marta González (The Fanatic) and Iveline Giro (Bad Boys II, Fox). The musical score will be under the direction of the executive Alison Polanco de Camalimusic Group and the company Domirecords, with the best of Mars.
Currently in pre -production, “Children of Christ” is scheduled to begin the main photography in the first week of February. While the project has ensured most of its funds, additional financial support for international coverage and postproduction is still needed. There are additional tax incentives available for companies or donors who could support “Children of Christ”.
This film is not just a project; It is a mission to bring hope and change to the life of innumerable children. Kiki Meléndez, originally from Puerto Plata, brings his unique perspective and passion to this deeply personal effort.
