The journalist and journalism educator, Crystal Acevedo has worked on the coordination of the Award with the intention of reaffirming the line of the award aimed at men and women of journalism in the new electronic media.
Acevedo, researcher and trainer of journalists and communicators in the country, offering workshops to many of those who today have excellent digital portals and influence various forms of communication on social networks.
The first delivery of the Observatory's Digital Journalism Award was verified in 2017, and has been held annually since then. A jury of experts that includes communication professors, practicing journalists and media advisors.

In addition, best digital health newspaper, best digital sports newspaper, best digital entertainment newspaper, best digital tourism newspaper, best digital social newspaper and best digital economics newspaper.
The categories of best digital newspaper in the South, best digital newspaper in Cibao, best digital newspaper in the East, best digital newspaper in Santo Domingo Norte, best digital newspaper in Santo Domingo Oeste, best digital newspaper in Santo Domingo Este and best journalist will also be recognized. on social networks.
Other categories to be awarded are best new digital media, best podcast, best content disseminated in digital and best Web design.
Like every year, the Dominican Digital Media Observatory will award the award called “Grand National Prize for Digital Journalism”, which will be given to a journalist who has extensive experience in digital media.
