Punta Cana – Riu paved the way for a massive expansion of one of its all-inclusive resorts in the Bávaro Beach area, rather than a typical renovation.
The new, larger Riu Palace Bávaro has recently opened in the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana resort.
The revamped resort on Arena Gorda beach boasts nearly 1,000 rooms. There is a shift towards family accommodation, which means numerous rooms tailored to larger groups and families.
Amenities specifically for families include a diverse kids’ club, a mini water park, a “pirate ship”, and a playground, among others.
Food options range from a new French bakery to a taqueria. Access is also available to the main water park of the neighboring Riu Republic complex.
The resort features the Riu Elite Club, offering enhanced services including exclusive pool access, upgraded drink dispensers, and two swimming pools.
The resort has 108 Elite Club rooms offering added perks like private pools and priority restaurant reservations.
Riu has been updating its resorts throughout the Caribbean-Mexico area in recent years. Last year, they revamped the Riu Palace Macao resort in Punta Cana and included a new Elite Club.
Planning your Punta Cana vacation? You can stay in a superior junior suite starting at $1,142.40 for five nights in October. A five-night stay in a swim-up room at the Elite Club level costs about $1,500.80.
