The president of the Dominican Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Sodomfi), Dr. Francisco De la Rosa, officially announced the 2026 Congress of the Latin American Medical Association of Rehabilitation (Amlar) along with the organization’s Academic Agenda for 2025–2027.

“In 2012, Punta Cana became the epicenter of rehabilitation in the region. In 2026, we will once again welcome the most renowned professionals from across Latin America, along with representatives of allied organizations, for an unforgettable gathering in every sense,” said Dr. De la Rosa.

The 2026 Amlar Congress, often referred to as “the celebration of Latin rehabilitation,” will be dedicated to Dr. Arturo Saviñón. The event will bring together specialists, researchers, and industry leaders to exchange knowledge, present advancements, and share best practices aimed at strengthening comprehensive patient care throughout the region.

As part of its lead-up activities, Sodomfi will also host the race “Activate RD: Move As You Wish,” an initiative designed to encourage physical activity without limitations and to promote healthy lifestyles among the Dominican population.

Through these initiatives, Sodomfi reinforces its commitment to continuous education, regional integration, and the promotion of rehabilitation as a cornerstone of health in Latin America.
