Storm Franklin Makes Landfall in the Dominican Republic

Punta Cana, RD.- The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) reports that Storm Franklin is already over Dominican territory, making landfall at 7:45 p.m. today, Wednesday, in the area near Los Cocos de Enriquillo, Barahona, according to the satellite images of the “Visible Channel”.

The phenomenon remains stable as a Tropical Storm and its maximum winds do not exceed 85 km/h and its pressure remains at 1,000 millibars.

Onamet informs that the meteorological station of the María Montáz Airport in Barahona registers winds of 18 km/h and atmospheric pressure of 1,005.8 millibars.

Franklin will continue its course to the north at about 17 km/h, and will continue passing through other places in the national territory.

A tropical storm conditions warning is in effect from Pedernales, the Haitian border, to Montecristi. It is recommended that the population remain attentive to the information issued by the Forecast Center.
