The 2nd THEMAG Business Tourism Forum will be Hosted by Hotel Live Aqua Punta Cana

The modernized and enlarged spaces of the Live Aqua Punta Cana Hotel Convention Center will be the venue for the 2nd THEMAG 2024 Forum, a crucial gathering to unite industry experts and leaders in tourism and technology. This event will focus on discussing the industry’s most pressing issues and future directions.

This forum will occur on October 23, starting at 9 am, and it aims to form an environment for idea and experience sharing. Relevant discussions around how smart destinations and electric mobility are changing the landscape of the tourism industry will be held. Special emphasis will be given to the specific challenges that the Dominican Republic, with a focus on Punta Cana, is facing.

“The objective of the second THEMAG Forum this year is to investigate, in collaboration with vital industry stakeholders, how innovative technologies can revolutionize tourist experiences and promote economic growth in the tourist hubs of Punta Cana and the whole Dominican Republic.” said Marcelo Ballester, the Director-Editor, who is also part of the event’s organization.

Key stakeholders in the tourism industry assembled at the THEMAG Forum

The second THEMAG Forum will feature technology gurus, government representatives, vice ministers, public sector figures, leading supplier companies’ general directors, tourism and transport sector executives, and hotel association presidents. They will delve into the future prospects of tourism in the country and Punta Cana through expert panels.

Topics like “Transport and Tourism: The Challenge of Sustainable Mobility” and “Challenges and Opportunities: The Path to an Intelligent Tourist Destination” will be covered in great detail, as informed by Betina Rey, the forum’s producer. Other panel discussions will also include “Building Smart Destinations: Territorial Planning and Urban Resilience for a Sustainable Future”, and “AI, Big Data and Data Analysis: The New Technologies that will Transform the Tourist Experience”. These panels will feature notable speakers such as Oscar San Martin, General Manager of CEPM and Evergo Mobility, Edwin Martinez, President of Dominican Association of Electric Mobility (ASOMOEDO), just to name a few.

Spanish speaker Andrés Rodríguez Conde, known for his international work in transforming cities into smart and sustainable spaces, will also give a closing conference. His talk, “From the current reality to the smart future: key steps to transform the destination”.

Conde will shed light on how technology can refurbish tourist cities to enhance traveler experiences, effectively manage resources, and foster sustainable growth, with humans at the heart of technology.
