The 6th edition of Gastronomic SDQ’s Restaurant Week in Santo Domingo boasts more than 90 participating restaurants

With the aim of offering new culinary proposals from the most iconic restaurants in the city and hotel restaurants, through innovative flavors of dishes prepared exclusively for this week, with the same price and by award-winning chefs, who, with ingredients locals will highlight native elements of our haute cuisine.

He thanked the participation of all the participating restaurants, the collaboration of the Dominican Academy of Gastronomy and the renowned chefs who, at his disposal, will create delicious experiences for each diner.

While Omar Cepeda Darauche, president of ADERES, highlighted that “Restaurant Week, this year brings a new proposal within its logistics and it is the replacement of the passport with a card, which will allow us to reduce the amount of printed paper and reduce the negative impact on the environment. In this way, diners will be able to access their digital passport, where they will be able to see the menus, offers and a digital stamp will be uploaded when visiting and commenting on the restaurants that are rated, all from the reach of their cell phones or devices.”

He added that “implementing a proposal like Restaurant Week, an activity that is carried out in different countries and that, in addition to energizing the visit of diners to restaurants and therefore activating the economy, is an initiative where gastronomic establishments are invited to “support local production and innovate through different national dishes, thereby generating sustainable gastronomic tourism.”

This sixth edition of SDQ Gastronomic 2023 has the support of American Express as official sponsor, Ministry of Tourism, El Catador, Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Cerveza Corona, Agua S. Pellegrino, Brugal, Grupo Rica, Grupo Punta Cana, The Butcher Shop and the Dominican Academy of Gastronomy.

We remember that the Gastronomic SDQ is an annual event presented by ASONAHORES and ADERES since 2017, in which restaurants have innovated the national gastronomic scene with their emblematic Restaurant Week activity, eagerly awaited by lovers of haute cuisine. Starting in 2022, its emblematic Restaurant Week event was taken to the Eastern and Northern regions of the country with the aim of moving towards a gastronomic route that is projected nationally.
