Tweeting about this milestone emphasized the robustness of the electricity sector and its quick responses, primarily due to the effective energy planning, private investments for generating power and, the Luis Abinader government’s development and modernization strategies.

The OC report also spotlighted the decisive contribution of renewables like solar, wind, and biomass plants, which meet the growing demand, helping the country significantly mitigate climate change. Clean energy sources power about 16% of Dominican energy consumption.

It is worth noting that the ability to generate and supply energy plays a crucial role in improving population’s life quality by providing them access to vital facilities.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines aims to regulate and implement policies for a responsible and sustainable development of the national energy and mining sectors, including metallic and non-metallic─at both levels.
