One of the goals of the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism is to promote Luxury Tourism at the forthcoming World Travel Market (WTM), slated to take place from November 5 to 7 in London. David Collado, the Minister of Tourism, along with his team from the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), will conduct a Roadshow with travel agents, tour operators, airlines and special guests.
The Dominican Republic is preparing for the WTM and announces its ongoing efforts to establish itself as a premium destination for luxury travel. The country boasts several marquee hotels set to open in 2025. The country’s tourism offerings are diverse, ranging from family resorts to luxury accommodations with a focus on sustainability, explains Mitur.
Other luxury resorts will also begin operations in 2025, further enriching the country’s hotel portfolio. For instance, La Ceiba Resort by Lopesan, located in Punta Cana, will offer a mix of leisure and adventure, complete with large pools, a lazy river, and various activities for families. Due to its unique design and comprehensive amenities, La Ceiba promises to be a front-runner for travelers seeking a luxury, immersive experience, states Mitur’s report.
The W Punta Cana Uvero Alto, another stylish and modern resort catering to travelers seeking luxury and eco-friendliness, is also expected to open in 2025. The resort will showcase the brand’s signature contemporary style.
The upscale St. Regis Punta Cana will also contribute to the luxury offerings and is scheduled for launch in 2025. Renowned for its elegant design and top-notch service, the beach front St. Regis will introduce an unequalled level of sophistication to the region. Its iconic St. Regis butler service will cater to the needs of discerning travelers seeking a unique and premium experience, further enhancing Punta Cana’s status as a luxury travel destination.
Scheduled for an opening in 2025 is another major addition, the eco-friendly Zemi Miches All Inclusive Resort by Hilton, located in the emerging destination of Miches. The resort will offer a blend of luxury and sustainability, in line with Dominican Republic’s efforts towards responsible tourism.
With its unspoiled beaches and green landscapes, Zemi Miches will cater to travelers desiring relaxation alongside environmental conservation.
Investments are also expanding to less developed areas such as Miches and Pedernales, renowned for their natural beauty and potential for ecotourism. These regions are expected to house around 10,000 new hotel rooms in the coming years to cater to the increasing demand for immersive, eco-friendly travel experiences.
The country’s capital, Santo Domingo, is also undergoing a transformation with the upcoming launch of the 22-story luxury hotel, Wyndham Grand Torre Everest. Offering breathtaking views and top-tier amenities, the skyscraper will enhance Santo Domingo’s allure as a cosmopolitan destination for leisure and business travellers alike.
The addition of esteemed brands like W, St. Regis and Zemi Curio by Hilton further highlights the Dominican Republic’s dedication to fusing luxury with sustainability. These additions serve as evidence of the country’s continuous efforts to adapt to the evolving needs of global travellers while protecting natural resources, concludes Mitur’s overview of the impending luxury hotel launches and developments in Miches and Pedernales.
