Tourism Acknowledges Companies That Enhance the Industry

David Collado, the Minister of Tourism, has acknowledged the contributions of over 80 companies, both local and global, that have played a role in fostering luxury tourism in the Dominican Republic.

“Your backing is vital for us to keep making strides towards making our country a foremost destination,” Collado stated at TasteDRPleasures. It was an occasion where the Dominican Republic showed off its top-notch luxury spots to globally renowned tourism professionals in Miami, Florida.

He noted that these enterprises form the 80% of the tourism sector. This, in return, results in a 10% contribution to the value addition of this field in the gross domestic product (GDP).

Banks

Particularly, he expressed gratitude for the backing of Banco Popular Dominicana, Banco BHD, Banreservas, and the Puntacana Group. These entities offered their support to the Dominican representatives present at the event.

Speaking of airlines, he mentioned firms like United Airlines, American Airlines, Jetblue, Breeze Airways, Aeromexico, and the Dominican Republic. Fighter Airline.

The Hotels

In the hospitality industry, many globally-acclaimed hotel chains operate within the country and have aided in the growth of premium tourism. Specifically, Collado appreciated Four Seasons, a hotel chain that sets a benchmark for being the first one to launch its services in Miches, a budding tourist spot in the province The Seibo.

Similarly, he applauded resorts including Hilton, Marriott International, Rosewood Hotels, Intercontinental Hotel Group, and The St. Regis Cap Cana, and local and regional hotel groups like Viva Wyndham, Grupo Posadas, Blue Diamond Resorts, and Hodelpa.

For travel agencies, names like Expedia, Viajes El Corte Inglés, ALG Vacations, Classic Vacations, and Transat Tours earned a mention.

Entities like the Piñero Group, Central Romana, Posadas Group, Martinón Group, and Fuerte Group were also awarded. In addition, the Puntacana Group was recognized as a conglomerate that boosts the nation’s tourism and economy by managing both tourist properties and real estate projects.

Also to Juan Luis Guerra

In the same event, esteemed artist and composer Juan Luis Guerra was appreciated for his valuable contributions to the enhancement of Dominican culture through his music.
