The first THEMAG Punta Cana 2023 Business Forum, held on September 5, 2023, was titled “Tourism 4.0: How AI and sustainability are shaping the future”, with two discussion panels where experts in each subject participated.

The second panel on new technologies and artificial intelligence took us into the challenges of the tourism industry in the face of technological changes and the new rules of the game. With the participation of prominent professionals in the area, among them Melissa Muñoz, director of Innovation of the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) of the Dominican Republic and current coordinator of the Innovation Cabinet, who addressed the challenges and the future in the implementation of the National Innovation Policy 2030 and Artificial Intelligence.

For his part, Mr. José David Montilla, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Presidency, spoke about the challenges of implementing the 2030 Digital Agenda that the government is carrying out and addressed cybersecurity in the tourism sector in the country, with an exercise interactive with attendees.

For his part, Alejandro Arnaud, Systems Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, explained the advantages for the tourism sector, destinations and companies, of Blockchain technology and its multiple advantages to attract a new tourist.

The THEMAG 2023 Forum had its finishing touch with the grand closing and conference by Jimmy Pons with the title, “Future of Tourism: Humanizing AI for innovative and sustainable hospitality
