Punta Cana:-Vice President Raquel Peña delivered a speech at the XXXVI Asonahores Commercial Exhibition. She emphasized the pivotal role of tourism for the Dominican Republic’s economy.

To finance social projects, particularly in the Eastern region, she asserted the need for revenue increase. Further, she acknowledged tourism’s crucial role in job creation and GDP contribution.

The vice president presented RD 2036 Meta Plan focused on sustainable economic growth, with tourism at its core. This ambitious plan aims to double the real GDP by 2036.

Peña lauded the innovation and collaboration showcased at the XXXVI Fair. She suggested that such events will aid in reaching the target of 14 million tourist arrivals by 2028.
