The accused allegedly smuggled over 2,600 kilos of cocaine into Spain. His arrest took place in Colombia’s capital following a collaborated operation with international units.
The group’s modus operandi involved hiding drugs inside fruit consignments to bypass custom checks. Such camouflaging techniques are frequent among drug trafficking syndicates.
Spain requested the extradition due to the operation’s magnitude and the quantity of drugs smuggled into it. Spanish and Colombian authorities have collaboratively worked to dismantle this network and prosecute the culprits.
Before being extradited to Spain to face drug trafficking charges, Dayiberto will be subjected to legal proceedings in Colombia.
