ADOMPRETUR Punta Cana Ushers in New Leadership with Swearing-In Ceremony at Hard Rock Café
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. – September 20, 2025. The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (ADOMPRETUR), Punta Cana chapter, inaugurated its new board of directors this Saturday in a ceremony held at Hard Rock Café Punta Cana, bringing together key figures from the tourism, business, and community sectors. The event marks the beginning of a new stage for the association, reinforcing its role as a leading voice in Dominican tourism communication.
New Board of Directors
The chapter will now be led by journalist Ángel Fernández, who assumed the role of Secretary General. He is joined by a diverse leadership team:

Commitment to Ethical and Responsible Journalism
In his opening address, Fernández called for unity within the organization and emphasized the importance of a more ethical, educational, and engaged tourism press. He underlined the responsibility of specialized journalism to accompany the growth of the country’s tourism hub:
“What we offer are not impossible promises, but a firm commitment to what is necessary — strengthening ethics, promoting training, and dignifying the role of each tourism journalist,” said Fernández.
He also urged for public-private alliances to further professionalize the sector and to ensure the ethical defense, promotion, and sustainability of Punta Cana and La Altagracia — the heart of Dominican tourism.
Recognition and Continuity
The ceremony featured a report from outgoing Secretary Oscar Cerda and included special honors for ADOMPRETUR Punta Cana’s founding figures: Ernesto Veloz, president of ASOLESTE, and Carlos Jiménez Ruiz, director of Lopesan Hotel, both of whom were recognized as honorary advisors for their contributions to the growth of the association.
