Bavaro Earthquake Drill Tests Hotel Palladium Preparedness

The Bavaro earthquake drill took place Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. when staff at Hotel Palladium evacuated as part of the National Earthquake Evacuation Drill coordinated by the Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE). Employees followed alarm signals, exiting the premises in an orderly fashion and moving to designated safe zones.

The drill allowed Hotel Palladium personnel to test evacuation procedures, evaluate response capabilities, and reinforce safety protocols for seismic emergencies. According to COE officials, these simulations are essential to improving preparedness and reducing risks during real emergencies.

This Bavaro earthquake drill aligns with national efforts to strengthen institutional readiness and promote a culture of prevention across the Dominican Republic. Similar drills have been conducted in Punta Cana and Veron as part of nationwide preparedness activities.

“Preparation and organization can make a difference in real emergency situations,” said COE officials during the drill. The exercise highlighted the importance of continuous training in high-risk tourist areas like Bavaro.
