Santo Domingo – The Dominican Republic welcomed 10,284,251 visitors between January and November 2025, a milestone that places the country on track for a historic year-end record in tourism, according to data released by Minister of Tourism David Collado.

This performance marks a strong jump compared to previous years: visitor arrivals are 52% higher than in 2019, 13% above 2023, and 3.1% more than in 2024, confirming the sustained growth of the sector and the country’s consolidation as the leading destination in the Caribbean.

Of the more than 10.2 million visitors, around 7.8 million travelers arrived by air, while approximately 2.3 million chose to visit aboard cruise ships, underscoring the robust expansion of both air and cruise tourism.

November: A Key Month for Dominican Tourism

In November alone, 1,000,484 tourists arrived in the country, a figure that further cements the Dominican Republic’s position as a regional tourism powerhouse.

The main source markets for this growth continue to be:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • Colombia
  • Argentina

Within this dynamic, Punta Cana stands out as the country’s primary air gateway, concentrating the largest volume of international arrivals and reaffirming its role as the most important tourism hub in the Dominican Republic.

Confidence, Investment and Resilience

Minister David Collado emphasized that, despite complex global conditions and international challenges, Dominican tourism has not only remained stable but continues to grow. This sustained performance, he noted, is:

  • Strengthening the national economy
  • Generating more jobs and opportunities
  • Boosting investor confidence in the Dominican Republic as a safe, profitable and long-term tourism destination.

With these numbers, the country is on the verge of closing one of the best years in its tourism history, consolidating itself as a preferred destination for travelers from North America, Latin America and beyond.
