Verón–Punta Cana, Dominican Republic — The Municipal District of Verón–Punta Cana will mark a major milestone in its international promotion efforts by participating for the first time with an independent stand at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026, set to take place in Madrid, Spain.
The announcement was made by municipal director Ramón Ramírez, who highlighted that this historic participation is part of a broader strategy to position Punta Cana as a leading global tourism destination. Through its presence at FITUR, the district aims to showcase its most valuable assets, including its exceptional natural landscapes, renowned hospitality, and rich cultural identity.
According to Ramírez, Verón–Punta Cana’s participation at FITUR 2026 is designed not only to promote tourism but also to attract international investors and key players in the tourism industry. The initiative reflects the local government’s commitment to sustainable territorial development and its vision for continued economic growth driven by tourism.
Currently recognized as the top tourist destination in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, Punta Cana continues to strengthen its global presence through strategic international platforms such as FITUR, one of the most influential tourism fairs in the world.
FITUR 2026 will be held from January 21 to January 25 in the Spanish capital, bringing together destinations, investors, tour operators, and tourism authorities from across the globe.
